IN 12 MONTHS

Be honest… How many years have you been saying,

But then life and a severe lack of discipline/accountability get in the way. Every. Damn. Year.

Sounding familiar? Feeling attacked?

Yeaaaah…you’re gonna wanna scroll on down.

Your words already mean something to someone.

Your name? It's already on someone’s tongue when their friend asks for a book recommendation.

The only problem? You haven’t written it yet.

You’ve probably started and stopped. You’ve gotten stuck.

You’re second-guessing everything.

Do you know if the structure is correct? Do you know if the characters are working?

Does the story even make sense?

But the full 12 months? That’s where the magic happens. While The Year of the Novel is split into three terms across the 12 months, all writers must join from term 1.

 FAQs

  • Each sprint phase (term) is designed to keep you moving, hold you accountable, and get you to a final, polished novel.

    But the full 12 months?

    That’s where the magic happens.

More time. More growth. More breakthroughs (including the ones you didn’t know you needed).

Your novel, your call. But if you’re in, go all in and use the 12 months to get your novel in the best shape possible (and have a bloody good time along the way).

You can pay for the full 12 months in one payment (£993) or pay term by term (£477 × 3). If paying by term, payment must be made before each term commences. You will be able to do this within the Studio.

Can I pick and choose the terms I need?

All writers must participate in all three terms.

We umm-ed and err-ed about this one and after much deliberation, we believe that there will be too much disruption to our writer community if we allow people to hop in at different stages.

However, The Year of the Novel is flexible in terms of your time commitment. There will be daily co-writing sessions you can attend and monthly masterclasses for each term (all will be recorded for you to watch later if you can’t attend live), but the beauty of the community is that it is open 24/7, 365. No need to worry if you have other commitments like holidays or work, try to join as much as you can, but by all means, manage your writing process your way!

I’ve already started my novel; can I still join?

Absolutely. No matter where you’re at (just getting started, halfway through, or sitting on a messy first draft), you’ll benefit from 12 months of structure, accountability, and support from fellow writers and experienced pros.

  • How the 12-month Year of The Novel writing program works:

It’s split into three structured terms:

Term 1: Planning & story development (so you don’t get 20k words in and realise you hate your plot).

Term 1 kicks off on 2nd July, 2025.

Term 2: The first draft (aka, writing at full speed without your inner critic breathing down your neck).

Term 2 kicks off on 2nd September, 2025.

Term 3: Peer reviews & editing (because you will miss a plot hole the size of a crater).

Term 3 kicks off on 13th January, 2026.

You will receive a detailed schedule via email and within the community before the sprint commences.

  • Nope. Whether this is your first attempt or your tenth, we’ve got you. And don’t stress about genre; when we open the doors, you’ll naturally connect with other writers in similar spaces who can help, inspire, and guide you.

  • Oh, just:

    • A solid plan, a finished novel, and an actual chance of making this dream real.

    • Masterclasses with published authors, agents, and industry pros.

    • PhD-level creative writing guidance (without selling a kidney for a degree).

    • Daily co-writing sessions to keep you accountable.

    • A community of 50 writers so you’re not yelling into the void alone.

    • Unlimited peer & expert feedback because “it’s good!” isn’t helpful.

    • Accountability partners & structured feedback loops to keep you moving.

    • Access to the full Studio Sonder creative community for a year (when you purchase the whole sprint upfront).

    • And best of all? A completed novel.

  • Think of them as virtual writing cafés. Jump in, get words down, feel productive, repeat. And for feedback?

You’ll have unlimited access to peer and expert reviews and structured feedback loops to improve your work (not just second-guess yourself to oblivion). The dedicated Year of the Novel writing sprint, classes, resources, and community space will be privately hosted within our Mighty Networks platform which you can access via your web browser or Mighty’s dedicated mobile app.

We will be hosting three dedicated co-writing sessions across each day that you can hop in and out of. These are cameras on/off, mics off sessions to get words written!

Whatever suits your schedule or your location. And don’t worry, you’re not expected to attend every session - they’re there to help you stick to your writing goals when you need them.

  • You will—and that’s why we exist. You won't be left floundering between structured phases, accountability partners, and the community. Plus, those built-in breaks are designed to stop burnout before it starts.

  • Yes, if your goal is to actually write a novel (and not just talk about one for three years).

This isn’t a hand-holding, teacher-led course. It’s a practical, year-long sprint where you learn the art of being a working writer by doing the work—consistently, with structure, accountability, and support.

You’ll be joined by our sprint leaders: Dr. Demi (PhD in Creative Writing) and Anna (copywriter, marketer and professional ghostwriter), who aren’t just guiding the process but also writing their novels alongside you.

You’ll also be surrounded by 50+ writers from all backgrounds and genres, there to offer support, motivation, and honest feedback as you go.

Throughout the year, you’ll get access to exclusive live masterclasses led by everyone from university lecturers to editors, agents, publishers, and published authors—real people working in the industry who know exactly what it takes to finish (and sell) a book.

No grades. No fluff. Just your novel, written with the kind of support you wish you'd had years ago.

  • Each “term” within the 12-month sprint costs £477. You can pay for the full 12 months in three payments of £477.

Payment 1: Today. Payment 2: Due before September 2nd. Payment 3: Due before January 13th.

The annual package is where you get an absolute steal of a deal: £993 for the whole shebang.

You can choose whichever suits your situation best.

You can pay with any major debit or credit card. Payments outside of the UK may be subject to credit card fees and conversion fees. These are not set by Studio Sonder, but our payment platform Stripe.

If you would like to join but need financial assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Demi at demi@studiosondercreative.com.

  • Easy. You’ve got options:

-Email your questions/thoughts/ideas/worries to anna@studiosondercreative.com or demi@studiosondercreative.com (give us a few days to reply. We’re probably mid-coffee and typing furiously).

-Book a casual chit chat (as in Oodie and a cup of tea casual) via email if you’re still a little unsure.
